MAHĀ SURF

MAHĀ SURF CLUB was born from the pursuit of a “hobby”: surf trips.

Looking back, my first overseas surf trip was to Sri Lanka. At a time when the Internet was not as widespread as it is today and information was scarce, I remember heading to Sri Lanka with my passport, surfboard, and a souvenir of curry-flavored curls, where civil war still raged in parts of the country.

At that time, Sri Lanka was not as developed as it is today, and I was captivated by the “surf trip,” a style of travel I had never experienced before, riding a tuk-tuk to explore the points, interacting with surfers from all over the world, and staying at local homes every night.

It has been 25 years since then. I have visited more than 60 countries and areas in my surf trip that started in Sri Lanka.

There are many happy moments in surf trips, but nothing makes me happier than sharing a good wave with my friends and other members I have met in the area.

Overseas, there are countless great waves for surfers of all levels and styles, depending on the season and point you choose.

In Japan, Excellent, ◎, and ☆ level waves are breaking all year round, with zero crowds and fun waves that no one can ride breaking everywhere.

On the other hand, I realized that behind the untouched fun waves, there are many problems such as difficulty in securing safe water in some areas, education problems, and destruction of the natural environment due to economic development, not to mention the problem of marine plastics.

I wondered if it would be possible to create a service that would solve social issues by going on a surf trip and learning about the social issues facing the surfing area, rather than just surfing a good wave and leaving the area behind.

This desire grew stronger with each next surf trip.

To realize this idea, we decided to start a membership surf trip club “MAHĀ SURF CLUB” by making use of our past experiences.

I want to solve the problems of surfing areas worldwide through surf trips.

This is my vision for MAHĀ SURF.

The world is in a state of flux, and the fun waves of your choice are breaking all over the place today.

Let’s plan your next surf trip together.

Welcome to MAHĀ SURF CLUB!
